Wondering where "Gemnosity" came from?
Imagine a retired lady who wondered what she could do to keep her mind active and her creative juices flowing. Having read about neuroplasticity and brain training, she decided that while brain games might be helpful, she'd like to be doing something more creative and productive than simply staring at a screen, trying to recall what she'd just seen.
She'd always loved art and being creative with her hands. Following a trip to North Georgia with her grand daughter where they'd stopped at a roadside gem store and "panned for precious stones", an idea began to form. The simple request of a child, "Grandma, can you make a necklace with this stone?" opened the door to a new path; Gemnosity was born.
Gemnosity would keep her brain active and also bring joy into the lives of others.
Thank you for wondering, and may your life be enriched, not only by this jewelry, but much more by your own creative spirit.

About our Jewelry
Some may think of jewelry as decoration. Others understand it as rare and valuable objects of beauty. At Gemnosity we prefer to view jewelry through the lens of symbol and story.
Every piece we create reflects and is designed to transmit something important about the world around us. We use primary materials to do this - copper, silver, brass. We select the most luminous stones, such as quartz, labradorite, howlite, and the like. These stones are precious not only for their beauty, but for what they symbolize.
Our descriptions convey the thoughts and ideas that are significant to us and we hope to transmit them with just as much love and care as we put into the making of each piece. They are there for you to reflect upon as you wear each piece, and for you to perhaps convey to others as they comment on what you are wearing.
Still better, we encourage you to wrap your own story around each piece and use it as a touchstone in sharing its meaning with others on your journey.
